Report: Addai and Lloyd on target in training ground win

1 October 2019

Alex Addai and George Lloyd scored second half goals to help earn a Cheltenham Town reserve side victory over Oxford United under-23s at the Energy Check Training Ground on Tuesday afternoon.

The Robins came from behind to earn victory, but more importantly both Rohan Ince and Will Boyle earned important minutes on their comeback from injury problems.

Oxford had the best of the early exchanges and they went ahead midway through the first half when Fabian Lopes opened the scoring. He got on the end of Kyran Lofthouse's ball to finish past Rhys Lovett.

After half time the Robins tempo increased and they were rewarded with an equaliser not long after the game had restarted.

Alex Addai wriggled his way through and finished past Jack Stevens to draw parity.

Lloyd then got the winner when he did well to find a way through and finish confidently.

Scholars Isaac Lawrence, Tom Chamberlain and Aaron Evans-Hariott featured as second half substitutes off the bench with Ince, Boyle and Addai rested towards the end of the game.
