Reaction: Broom on Macclesfield

23 October 2019

Ryan Broom netted his sixth goal of the campaign in Tuesday night's win over Macclesfield Town and was pleased his Robins side found a way to break the night's opponents down.

A tricky first half saw Cheltenham eventually find the goal that was needed just before half time via Luke Varney after Broom had provided an assist for the experienced forward.

And from that point on the Robins controlled the second half, also allowing Broom to top his night off with the third and final goal.

"It's good that the table looks as it is - it shows that our hard work is paying off," Broom said after the game.

"They asked different questions but we managed to break them down in the end. We are finding a way at the moment so that's a positive.

"They seemed to change the way they play after the second goal and it allowed us to get on the ball a bit more.

"We enjoyed a little bit more possession. We moved the ball a lot quicker then."

Next for Broom and his teammates is a trip to Grimsby Town on Saturday.
