Assistant manager Russell Milton is keen to highlight the threat a much improved Macclesfield Town side will bring when they visit the Jonny-Rocks Stadium on Tuesday.

Strugglers at the foot of the table for much of their first season back in the Football League last year, the Silkmen head into Tuesday's encounter ninth in League Two.

A late goal on Saturday saw them win 1-0 away at Oldham Athletic and they are five points behind Cheltenham.

"We've seen a few games of them so we've been ahead of the game," Milton said.

"When you are watching other teams you can half an eye on what future opponents are going to be like as well.

"They are a good side Macclesfield. They're not the Macclesfield that were languishing near the bottom last year for long periods.

"It looks like they like to play. They've got a certain way of playing which is good.

"They've made a few changes in the summer and they are on a good run as well so I think it will be an entertaining game on Tuesday night.

"We're going to concentrate on ourselves largely but we're going to have to have half an eye on them as well."

Tickets for Tuesday's game are available to buy online in advance and will also be on sale from the ticket office at 10am on Tuesday, and available on the turnstiles.
