Preview: Duff on Oldham Athletic

3 October 2019

Robins boss Michael Duff has made his team aware of the challenge that is to come this weekend at an Oldham Athletic side rejuventated by the appointment of new manager Dino Maamria.

The Latics have brought in Maamria after he recently departed fellow League Two side Stevenage as they look to climb up the table.

Duff will be hoping his team can add to their recent uplift in away form following last Saturday's 1-1 home draw with Crewe Alexandra.

"They fell just the wrong side of a really tight game last week," Duff said at the club's Thursday morning press conference.

"They won his first game and in both games they've had 500 passes plus. They do want to knock it around and it's a similar formation to what we came up against last week.

"They've only lost one in the last five or six as well so the results haven't been great but they've not been getting beaten a lot recently either so it will be a tough game - any away game in this league is.

"There are normally three or four results that go against what you'd expect in this league because it isn't like the Premier League - you don't have a top four or a top two or whatever.

"Everyone beats everyone and that is why it's so difficult to predict results."
