Michael Duff is preparing his Cheltenham Town side for a tough battle this weekend at Grimsby Town's Blundell Park to face a Mariners side determined to build on their draw at Cambridge United on Tuesday evening.

Grimsby stopped a run of three straight League Two defeats with a goalless draw at the Abbey Stadium in midweek.

Having recorded wins over Exeter City and taken points off the likes of Bradford City and Colchester United this season, Saturday's opposition will be looking to steal points again off one of the top placed teams in the division.

"They got beat by four last week at home - it wasn't a 4-0 game at all," Duff said at the club's Thursday morning press conference.

"I think Mike [Jolley] has done a good job there. I think he's in his third season now. The first year he kept them safe, last year they were streaky - they'd go on three or four games and win, and then three or four games losses.

"They had a squeak of the play-offs at one point and then obviously fell away but he's definitely shifted them into probably the middle part of the league where they are now. It takes time.

"They've gone away to Cambridge the other day and shown dogged and resilience, probably as a result of the four from Saturday.

"To go away from home and get a point they'll be looking to make that a really good point by trying to win their home game."
