Loan watch: Bowry makes Bath debut

24 October 2019

Dan Bowry made his debut for Bath City on Saturday and helped the Romans to a 1-0 away win over St Albans City in the National League South.

The result sees former Cheltenham defender Jerry Gill's Bath move within two points of the play-off places as a goal from another former Robins man, midfielder Tom Smith, secured all three points on the road for the Romans.

Archie Brennan completed 90 minutes for Alvechurch as they beat St Ives Town 1-0 in the Southern Premier Central.

The first year professional also featured in a friendly win for Alvechurch on Tuesday night against Wolverhampton Casuals.

Grant Horton represented Yate Town on both Saturday and Tuesday in the Southern Premier South, with the Bluebells suffering back-to-back defeats.

Firstly a trip to Dorchester Town last Saturday ended in a 2-0 loss, while on Tuesday a home encounter with Farnborough Town saw them slip to a 1-0 defeat.

Horton's fellow second year scholar Isaac Lawrence was in action for Tuffley Rovers on Tuesday evening in the Hellenic Premier Division. The defender helped his loan club earn a point on the road at Royal Wootton Bassett Town to remain in mid-table in the division.

This coming weekend Bowry's Bath have a home clash with Dorking Wanderers to look forward to, while Horton and Brennan are both in FA Trophy action with Yate hosting Tiverton Town and Alvechurch travelling to Peterborough Sports.

Lawrence's Tuffley are set for a home game in the Hellenic Premier against struggling Burnham.
