Broom wins Autovillage Player of the Month

15 October 2019

Midfielder Ryan Broom has been chosen by Cheltenham Town fans as the Autovillage Player of the Month after impressing as the Robins picked up 13 points and went unbeaten in September.

The Welshman continued his fine form carrying on from August by netting three goals in two games at the start of the month - as he helped the Robins brush past Stevenage and Salford City.

The 23-year-old was particularly impressive as Michael Duff's side secured a first away victory of the campaign at Salford, netting a brace with goals in either half at the Peninsula Stadium.

Broom was also unfortunate not to make it four goals in three games as his last minute effort took a heavy deflection off Will Aimson a week later as the Robins stunned Plymouth Argyle in Devon to secure three consecutive wins in seven days after a midweek success over Bradford City.

Named by manager Michael Duff in an interview as his Player of the Month, Broom was also nominated for the PFA award for September along with team-mate Gavin Reilly.

He pipped Reilly, EFL Young Player of the Month Jacob Greaves and captain Ben Tozer to the Autovillage award as chosen by supporters on social media.

The versatile midfielder was presented with his award by our friends at Autovillage earlier this afternoon.
