Reaction: Tozer on Exeter City

17 November 2019

Following Tuesday's Leasing.com Trophy defeat to Newport County, captain Ben Tozer was pleased to see him and his Cheltenham Town teammates keep a clean sheet on the road at Exeter City on Saturday.

A bizarre game in midweek saw the Robins ship seven goals against Newport, but their performance in Devon was much more like the Cheltenham side that has been pushing towards the top end of the table all season and a clean sheet was an added bonus.

"In the grand scheme of things it's a good away draw," Tozer said after the game.

"Especially considering it is 0-0 and a clean sheet. After Tuesday it is massive to be honest with you.

"After the first half we were under a little bit of pressure and we dealt with it well and second half we came out better.

"There were a few rows at half time between the lads which is not a bad thing - it's good to get each other going. It gets other people speaking.

"Once it settles down you get the constructive side of things out. It was positive at the end of the day."

The defender will now lead Cheltenham into FA Cup first round replay action against his former club on Tuesday night when the Robins travel to Swindon Town.

Tickets and away travel are available for the match in Wiltshire. Tickets are also available to buy on the night at Swindon.
