The result may not have gone Cheltenham Town's way in the Leasing.com Trophy on Tuesday, but it was a big step forward in the return of summer signing Reuben Reid from injury.
Reid made his first appearance in Robins colours in a first team fixture as a second half substitute in the 7-4 defeat to Newport County.
He showed some nice touches in what was his first match since last season having undergone knee surgery shortly after signing at the Jonny-Rocks Stadium.
Speaking to the press after the game, Reid was feeling positive to be back out playing.
"Being back out there was really positive for me and good for my mental side of things definitely," he said.
"The knee feels grand, the body feels good, long may it continue. I've had a good rehab - really well constructed and obviously fulfilled on my part - now it's a case of trying to break myself back into the first team.
"Once I go back into training I deem myself ready. Getting to know the areas on the pitch of how you can effect it is mind memory, so getting back there I felt as good as I've ever been and with the few shots I've had if one went in that's what really gets your confidence going and really sharp when things are going for you."

He'll now be looking to play a part for Cheltenham against one of his former sides, Exeter City, when Michael Duff's side travel to St James Park this weekend.
Tickets and away travel for that match, as well as next Tuesday's FA Cup first round replay at Swindon Town, are on sale from the ticket office on Thursday and Friday. The ticket office is open between 10am and 3pm.
