Michael Duff was left disappointed with his side's second half showing in Cheltenham's FA Cup second round defeat to Port Vale.

Tom Pope's hat-trick in just eight second half minutes booked League Two counterparts Vale a place in the third round of this year's competition after Reuben Reid's first half penalty had given the Robins the lead at the break.

Duff was pleased with how his team performed in the opening 45 minutes, but less so with their second half showing.

"I think we dominated the first half. We should have been definitely more than 1-0 up," he said.

"But that's what happens. When you're on top you need to score. They've had ten minutes and they've scored three goals in that ten minutes.

"I thought we were excellent first half and almost became not complacent but thought another chance would come and it doesn't.

"They're a decent team Port Vale. We didn't start the second half properly and it's difficult to wrestle momentum back."

It's back on the road next time out for the Robins with a trip to Mansfield Town in League Two next Saturday.

Book tickets and away travel from the ticket office this week. The ticket office is open on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday between 10am and 3pm.
