Max Sheaf is back and ready to play his part in Cheltenham Town's season, starting with this weekend's FA Cup first round clash with Swindon Town.

The midfielder hasn't played for the Robins since a goalless draw at Morecambe two weeks into the season.

A frustrating injury issue has ruled him out since then in a period that after receiving treatment at the club saw him return to parent club Hull City for treatment where he is on loan from until January.

He's now completed two weeks of successful training back in Gloucestershire however, and also played 45 minutes in a midweek reserve team win over Reading.

"The FA Cup has got a lot of history behind it, especially with the lower league teams," Sheaf said when previewing this weekend's first round tie against League Two foes Swindon.

"It will be a good contest. Playing against Swindon earlier on in the season they were a good team so it'll be another good test for us.

"The lads want to win it and get back to winning ways at home.

"I feel ready. It is all up to the gaffer but I feel good and I feel like if I'm involved I can play a part and I'm looking forward to that."
