First year scholar Callum Ebanks had a night to remember at the Jonny-Rocks Stadium on Wednesday evening.

The imposing strikers four goals helped the under-18s clinch a place in the FA Youth Cup third round with an 8-4 victory over Portsmouth.

His brilliantly taken finishes have played a major part in securing what will now be a round three clash with Arsenal.

He could have had a further two goals were it not for last ditch on the line defending from Pompey, but nevertheless his four strikes played a key part in helping the young Robins progress.

"I'm just delighted and happy that I can show the fans and my coaches what I can do," Ebanks said after the game.

"It just shows what is going on at the training pitch is paying off.

"It is like a dream come true to be honest. I've just got to keep doing what I do - score goals hopefully and with the team get us through to the next round."

The under-18s are back in action on Saturday morning with an EFL Youth Alliance home game with Swindon Town which gets underway at 11am at The Energy Check Training Ground.

Ebanks will be hoping to play a part in that match, while the first team are in action on the road at Exeter City.

Tickets and away travel for the game at St James Park are on sale from the ticket office on Friday. The ticket office is open from 10am till 3pm.
