Community: Second open evening for post-16 education programme

12 November 2019

A second open evening has been confirmed for the Cheltenham Town Community Trust's post-16 education programme due to high demand.

Those interested in the new course will be able to attend a second open evening on Thursday 28th November at 6:30pm in the Jonny-Rocks Stadium.

Students will gain an OCR level 3 sports diploma, with a 100% pass rate for the 2018/19 cohort and 90% of which achieved above target grade - 55% of these got the highest possible grade, equivalent to A*.

Alongside this, students will represent Cheltenham Town in 11-a-side in the EFL CEFA League against other pro clubs such as Bristol City, Bristol Rovers, Plymouth Argyle and Swindon Town.

The course has an outstanding success rate with 92% also progressing into higher education or employment and 60% have now been employed by the Community Trust.

Home games and training sessions will take place at a County League standard venue, with training taking place on astroturf and tactical work for matches will include video analysis.

The course is now recruiting and due to increased demand, a second open evening will take place on the 28th November.
