Cheltenham Town striker Luke Varney has been named as the Autovillage Player of the Month following a strong finish to the 2018/19 season.
It’s been a successful end to the campaign for the 36-year-old, who capped off his most prolific season since 2006/07 by signing a one-year contract extension at the Jonny-Rocks Stadium last month.
The former Burton Albion man also scooped up the Bryan Jacob Cup, otherwise known as the Supporters' Player of the Year award after endearing himself to the Robins faithful with 14 goals since arriving in September.
Four of those goals have come since March as Varney heads into the final game of the season at Stevenage this weekend as the club’s leading scorer.
Varney was presented with his award by our friends at Autovillage, who have kindly sponsored Player of the Month for a second year.
