Duff: I'm eager to get going

31 May 2019

It's the final day of early bird season ticket sales at Cheltenham Town ahead of the 2019/20 season. Fans have up to 7pm tonight at the ticket office, and midnight online, to purchase their season ticket at early bird price for the new campaign. Season ticket holders from the 2018/19 campaign received an email from manager Michael Duff on Thursday urging them to take advantage of the early bird offer before it closes this evening. Here's what he had to say via email.

I hope you have been enjoying the off-season and are looking forward to when the new League Two campaign gets going on 3 August.

Of course before then we have got a busy pre-season friendly programme planned. The club have announced some of the friendlies we will use to prepare for the new season, including a home match against Leicester City, which will be a great test for us against a team who won the Premier League title only a few years ago - showing anything is possible in football.

More pre-season friendlies are set to be announced soon and we have been working very hard behind the scenes to ensure everything is set and ready for our preparations.

This has included our work to improve areas of the squad, and it has been a positive for us to tie down a number of players who have played a key part for us to new contracts moving forward.

Most recently of late we have signed Charlie Raglan permanently and extended Ryan Broom's contract - with both players committing their futures to the club for a further two years. This is something I'm really pleased about as they're both really good ages, they are the type of characters we want at the club and there's a lot more to come from them.

The players return to pre-season training in late June and I'm looking forward to working with the group to prepare for what is sure to be another challenging campaign, but one I'm eager to get going with the opportunity to have a full pre-season and start the season in charge from the beginning.

The club have recently also announced that we will be hosting a club open day on Sunday 28 July. We are looking forward to seeing the supporters and there will be the chance to meet the players and lots of activities for our young supporters, as well as a legends game with some faces from the past pulling on the shirt again which will be great.

To the season ticket holders who have renewed from last season we as a club are really grateful for your support and look forward to having your backing again during the 2019/20 season.

If you are yet to renew it would be great to have you on board as a season ticket holder again next season if you are able to join us. The club's early bird deadline is on Friday and they have put together a great offer for fans.

Enjoy the remainder of the off-season and I look forward to seeing many of you when our pre-season friendlies begin.

Best wishes

Michael Duff
