Lovett pens a new contract

15 May 2019

The longest serving member of the Cheltenham Town squad has committed himself to another season at the Jonny-Rocks Stadium.

Goalkeeper Rhys Lovett has signed on the dotted line and agreed a new one-year deal to remain part of Michael Duff's set-up.

The 21-year-old joined the Robins in the summer of 2015 and has been a trusted member of the goalkeeping department, working alongside goalkeeper coach Steve Book.

Previously a youth team goalkeeper at Walsall and Rochdale, Lovett has made one Football League appearance for the Robins, on the final day of the 2017/18 season at Crewe Alexandra.

He has also featured for the club in the Checkatrade Trophy against Swansea City under-21s in August 2017 and September 2018 at Forest Green.

Previously he's also spent time on loan at Tiverton Town, Shortwood United and Shepton Mallet.

He will now line up for Cheltenham again next season alongside fellow goalkeeper Scott Flinders, who recently agreed a two-year contract to extend his stay with the club.

Lovett's player sponsorship for the 2019/20 campaign is now available. To find out more about becoming his home or away shirt sponsor contact Luke Saunders via email: luke.saunders@ctfc.com

Season tickets for the 2019/20 season are now available to buy. The early bird deadline comes to an end on 31 May with adult prices having been cut, a new age category introduced for 16 to 22 year olds, and a free shirt for all under-16s.
