The early bird deadline for season tickets at Cheltenham Town for the 2019/20 season is this Friday. One member of the first team squad who is well and truly #MadeOfCheltenham, academy graduate George Lloyd, has penned a letter to existing season ticket holders. Here's what he had to say when he got in touch with them personally via email on Tuesday afternoon.
Hello,
I hope you have been enjoying the off-season and are excited like me for when everything gets going again for the 2019/20 season.
With regards the season just gone it has been a massive season of learning for me, going out to play football in the two loan spells I had at Hereford, which I really enjoyed. I learnt a lot in my time there and it's improved my overall game.
To come back to Cheltenham and then play a few more games towards the end of the season was really good too.
It was great to come off the bench at Lincoln and score with a header against the eventual league champions. It was a strong performance by everybody that day and a sign of what we as a team have the potential to do.
I was also delighted recently that the goal I scored at Lincoln was voted for by the fans as the club's Goal of the Season. Thank you to everyone who voted for me. It was a special moment as you can tell by the way we celebrated as a team and it was an honour to have my goal picked out as the favourite by the fans.
I am looking forward to getting going next season. It's great that the likes of Charlie Raglan, Luke Varney and Ryan Broom have all signed new contracts and the friendly against Leicester City in pre-season is a great one to have too.
Working under Michael Duff has been great for me. He's worked hard with me on the training ground to improve my game, talking to me a lot about running too much, and making sure I'm going to be in the six-yard area where I should be scoring all my goals.
As someone who has come through the youth system like me here at Cheltenham I look up to him a huge amount and am looking forward to having another season working and learning from him again. It feels as though the club's Made of Cheltenham season ticket campaign is something that I'm very much a part of, and that is the same for the manager too.
Hopefully you will get behind us in the 2019/20 season as we are going to need all the support we can get to help make the season a success.
