Broom on signing his new contract

20 May 2019

Ryan Broom has been having his say after it was announced last week that the Welshman had signed a new two-year contract to extend his stay with the Robins.

The former Bristol Rovers man has capped a fine first campaign in a Cheltenham shirt by agreeing a new deal that ties him down to a further two seasons at the Jonny-Rocks Stadium.

He'll be looking to follow up an eye-catching first season where he made 48 appearances in all competitions.

"So far I'm glad with how things have gone," Broom said. "I think everything has been taking the right steps really for my development so I'm glad to be working under the manager here and moving forward.

"It's an important thing to get yourself settled and sometimes if you have a routine it can benefit your football. Hopefully I'll reap the benefits of that next season.

"Towards the final part of the season you could definitely feel a difference at home, and also away from home there were a few travelling fans, I think it can only get better really and it'll get better if we get better results. We hope they continue to come to support us and we go from there."
