Reaction: Duff on Mansfield

2 March 2019

After seeing his side fight back against automatic promotion chasing Mansfield Town but end up on the wrong side of a 4-2 defeat, Michael Duff felt his side deserved a point at the One Call Stadium.

Two goals down at the break, Chris Hussey and Charlie Raglan's goals in the second half had seen the Robins draw level in Nottinghamshire.

However Mansfield showed their promotion credentials to score a further two goals through Will Atkinson and Alex MacDonald to seal all three points.

Duff was pleased with lots of elements of his team's performance, and felt their efforts deserved even more.

"I thought we were more than good value for a point. In the first 40 minutes we were excellent. We've come in 2-0 down - two straight balls and we can defend that better we know that," he said after the game.

"We made a change at half time and I thought the response was another good 40 minutes again. We get ourselves back in the game and then it's key moments in games.

"I said before the game there's a way to get beaten. Colchester we weren't good enough, Grimsby we showed a little bit of grit and determination and I thought we mixed it up today.

"If you were a neutral watching that game today you wouldn't know which team was top of the league and which one is bottom which is credit to the lads. We don't get anything but it's a start."
