Reaction: Duff on Crewe win

30 March 2019

Apologies, this video is unvailable.

Despite seeing his side claim their first away win since New Year's Day, Robins boss Michael Duff believes his side can be even better after securing three points at Crewe.

Goals from Kevin Dawson, Billy Waters and Luke Varney helped Cheltenham come from a goal down in the first half to clinch maximum points, ending a run of six straight away defeats.

However Duff believed his team were far from their best at Gresty Road, and feels they have actually played better on their previous travels ahead of the trip to Crewe.

"Weirdly it's probably the worst we've been away from home for a while," he said. "It's good because the players are disappointed. But I've just told them football pays you back. Keep doing the right things often enough it'll pay you back.

"We know we can use the ball better but we're disappointed that we've won. It's not a bad habit to get into. We've come off the pitch the last three away games and we are disappointed because we think we've done alright and lost - today we know we could do better but we've won and we've put two results back-to-back.

"I don't think they hurt us a lot - we just didn't keep the ball well enough - we didn't make the simple decisions well enough."

Next up for Cheltenham is a home outing against play-off chasing Exeter City at the Jonny-Rocks Stadium.
