Preview: Duff on Newport County

Robins boss Michael Duff is expecting a tough outing against a robust Newport County AFC side on Friday night.

Cheltenham make the trip across the Severn Bridge to take on the Rodney Parade outfit for a third time season.

Duff's charges have already overcome Newport twice in the campaign so far. Once in League Two and through a penalty shootout in the Checkatrade Trophy, however the man in the dugout is fully expecting a gruelling encouter on Friday night.

"Even when we played them they were still going 100mph in the 94th or 95th minute," Duff said.

"Flynny (Michael Flynn) has got a real team ethic - they don't seem to have any big egos. They have a way of playing and they all know their jobs. They do look a real together unit, hence the reason they've picked up good results in the FA Cup, which has probably hampered their league form because they were so many games behind at one point.

"You don't beat Leicester at home, you don't take Man City all the way, you don't beat Middlesbrough and draw at their place and beat them at home. Their cup run has probably been a blessing but also a hindrance for them.

"It's going to be a really tough one. We have to roll our sleeves up. If we don't turn up on Friday they can run over the top of you."
