Loan watch: Bower sparks Weston comeback

19 March 2019

Matt Bower's early second half goal helped Weston-super-Mare claim an important point on the road in the National League South on Saturday.

The academy product scored the first of two second half goals for the Seagulls as they came back from being two goals down against high flying Chelmsford to earn a point in a 2-2 draw.

Front man Liam McAlinden claimed an assist for Kidderminster Harriers in their National League North home win over Spennymoor Town.

Tom Smith was an unused subsitute in Bath City's 1-1 home draw with Wealdstone, while Josh Debayo wasn't in Dover's matchday squad as they earned three points against FC Halifax Town.

From the under-18s out on loan, goalkeeper Freddie Lapworth saved a penalty for Gloucester City on Monday evening as the Tigers lost 2-1 to Bristol City in the Gloucestershire Senior Cup.

Tyreece Briscoe and Will Dawes both started for Tuffley Rovers in their Hellenic Premier Division loss at Binfield, while Ioan Richards started for Slimbridge in their Evo-Stik Southern League Division One South loss at Winchester City. Injury ruled Archie Brennan out of action in that game.
