Day 1: Acorns Italian Alps Challenge

17 June 2019

Day one of the Cheltenham Town staff charity cycle ride to raise funds for Acorns Children's Hospice has started successfully.

The team climbed two mountains, covered 55 kilometres and 6,500 feet on the first day of their challenge in the Italian Alps.

Assistant manager Russell Milton, Senior Sports Therapist Gavin Crowe and under-18s manager Pete Haynes have been joined by Barry Roberts on the trip, as well as support driver Gary Haynes.

They're aiming to raise £2,000 for Acorns, who have been Cheltenham's charity partners during the 2018/19 season.

On day one of their cycle ride they successfully completed routes which include the Torri di Fraele and Bormio 2000 in the Lombardy region of Italy.

They have already passed the halfway point of their £2,000 target but still need more donations. If you would like to donate to their challenge then click here to donate online.
