Robins swoop for Ince

2 July 2019

Cheltenham Town are delighted to announce the signing of former Chelsea and Brighton & Hove Albion central midfielder Rohan Ince.

Signing a one-year contract, the 26-year-old arrives at the Jonny-Rocks Stadium as the Robins fourth summer signing.

The 6'4'' midfielder has represented the likes of Fulham, Brighton, Swindon Town, Bury and Yeovil in the Championship and League One having started his career at Stamford Bridge where he was an FA Youth Cup winner in 2010.

He has trained with his new teammates since the beginning of pre-season training on Thursday, and bolsters a midfield that includes Conor Thomas, Chris Clements, Ryan Broom and Archie Brennan.

Commenting on Ince's arrival, manager Michael Duff said: "He's had a good schooling where he's come from at Chelsea and had 80 or 90 games for Brighton in the Championship. When I played against him he was the next big thing coming through.

"He's been a bit unfortunate with his injury last year. We've done all the due diligence with regards to testing, seeing specialists, scanning - we think we've found a very good player.

"He's 6'4'', powerful, but he can play as well. We're hoping he can add physicality and quality into our midfield."

Ince's player sponsorship for the upcoming campaign is now available. Contact via email to enquire into becoming his home or away shirt sponsor for the 2019/20 season.

Tickets for the Robins home pre-season matches against Premier League Leicester City and Shrewsbury Town are now on sale. Buy your tickets for those two fixtures online here.
