Waters: I can't wait to get going again

11 January 2019

Billy Waters couldn't hide his delight at sealing a return to Cheltenham Town on a loan agreement until the end of the season.

The 24-year-old attacker has agreed a loan switch from parent club Northampton Town and is in line to make his second debut for the club when Tranmere Rovers are the visitors to the Jonny-Rocks Stadium.

A 2015-16 Conference National title winner, and the club's 2016-17 Player of the Season, when the opportunity came up to re-join the Robins he jumped at the chance.

“I'm absolutely buzzing. It feels really good to be back. It seems not a lot has changed but at the same time a lot has," Waters said.

"I can't wait to get going again. I had a sense of coming home when I drove into Cheltenham this morning.

"My agent rang me and just said Cheltenham are interested amongst a few other clubs, but it was always Cheltenham that was my priority.

"I can't look back at what was - it's a new era now and I'm looking forward to being a part of that new era."
