Senior Cup: Robins to host the Swans

10 January 2019

Cheltenham Town will host Slimbridge at the Jonny-Rocks Stadium in the Gloucestershire Senior Challenge Cup on Tuesday 22 January.

The quarter-final tie against the Evo-Stik Southern League Division One South Swans will kick off at 7.45pm.

A high scoring win over Mangotsfield United in the first round has earned the Robins another home tie in the competition.

There are currently two under-18s on loan at Slimbridge. Archie Brennan and Ioan Richards have spent the last few weeks with the Thornhill Park club who operate four divisions below League Two.

On the night the Autovillage Stand and a small section of the Hazelwoods Stand will be open for supporters.

The last time the two clubs met was in the same competition in March 2016 as goals from Paul Fahy and Sean Lawson earned Slimbridge a 2-0 win.

The only remaining Robins player who featured on that night is defender Matt Bower.

From the other quarter final ties in the competition, Forest Green are already through after winning away at Yate. Cinderford host Bristol Rovers Development in February and a date is still to be arranged for Bristol City under 23s game with Gloucester City.
