Robins bring in Pring on loan

3 January 2019

Cheltenham Town can confirm the signing of Cameron Pring on a loan agreement until the end of the season.

The 20-year-old joins the club from Sky Bet Championship side Bristol City, having started his career at Cheltenham as a youth team player before moving to Ashton Gate.

A left sided player who can operate as a full back, wing back or further forward, he has spent the first half of this season on loan at League Two counterparts Newport County.

Previously he’s also spent time on loan at Merthyr Town in the Southern Football League and was part of the Hereford side that won the Southern Premier Division title last season. He also had a brief stint at Aldershot Town in the National League.

Pring played 25 games during the 2015-16 season for the under-18s at Cheltenham before making the switch to his parent club.

On signing until the end of the season at the Jonny-Rocks Stadium Pring said: “It’s good to see a few familiar faces like Russell Milton and Pete Haynes and a few of the youth team boys who have stepped up so it’s good to be back.

“I had some good times here so hopefully I can repeat that here now. I hope I get some more game time now and push for the left back spot.”

Pring is available for selection for this Saturday’s away match at Crawley Town.

Keep an eye out for Pring’s first interview as a Robins loanee plus action from his first training session on the club website and social media channels.
