Reaction: Duff on Yeovil win

1 January 2019

Michael Duff claimed he was delighted with the end result in the Robins emphatic 4-1 New Year's Day win at Yeovil Town, but has urged his team to still improve over different periods in games.

His side started 2019 very much in the way they ended 2018 - on the front foot and with a good showing that saw the club make it seven unbeaten in all competitions.

Luke Varney, Conor Thomas, Jordon Forster and Kevin Dawson all found the net and Duff was pleased with his team when they were in control and on top in Somerset.

"I'm delighted with the end result but we need to be aware that we can't start two 15 minutes of both halves like that," he told the media after the game.

"Within that and the randomness and the way that they play - they play 4-2-4 and they're gung-ho - once we got hold of the ball and passed and moved them around we created numerous chances so I'm delighted with the result.

"Hopefully it's onwards and upwards. We're not getting carried away with ourselves. From the off we've not suddenly become a great team because in spells in the game today we didn't look like a very good team, but in longer periods we did look like a good team.

"It's just trying to drive it forwards and get better and better for longer periods."
