Barnett seals permanent Robins move

7 January 2019

Cheltenham Town have confirmed the permanent signing of Tyrone Barnett from fellow Sky Bet League Two side Port Vale.

The 33-year-old initially joined the club on a half-season loan at the end of August but has now turned his stay at the Jonny-Rocks Stadium into a full time move.

He has found the back of the net five times for the Robins this season, making 26 appearances in all competitions.

Barnett has added further experience to Michael Duff’s front line this season. The former Peterborough United, Shrewsbury, Crawley and AFC Wimbledon attacker has signed a deal that will keep him at the club until the end of the campaign.

He could be set to make his first appearance as a permanent Cheltenham player on Tuesday when one of his former clubs, Oxford United, are the visitors in the Checkatrade Trophy third round.
