Winger Alex Addai has been named as the Autovillage Player of the Month for December with 44% of the vote.
Every month supporters are given the opportunity to vote online via a poll for which player has impressed them the most from the previous month.
December’s winner Addai was chosen ahead of teammates Chris Hussey, Chris Clements and Nigel Atangana after breaking into the starting XI for the last month of 2018.
Impressing as an impact sub beforehand, he teased a purple patch after netting his first Robins goal in late November against Ebbsfleet United.
What followed was an impressive run of form as the former Merstham man scored in back to back games at the start of December, firstly away at Accrington Stanley in the FA Cup and then versus Newport County in the Checkatrade Trophy.
The 25-year-old speedster also picked up three assists, two of which were for Atangana, firstly at Port Vale and then with a pin-point cross at home to MK Dons.
That match on Boxing Day saw a fine individual performance from Addai as after assisting the Frenchman for Cheltenham’s first of the afternoon, he then played a neat one-two to set up Clements for the third in a 3-1 victory.
He was presented with his award at Autovillage Gotherington after training today – as our close friends at Autovillage continue to sponsor the Player of the Month award for a second season running.
