Reaction: Thomas on Cambridge win

20 February 2019

A second half penalty saw Conor Thomas help Cheltenham to a good win over Cambridge United at the Jonny-Rocks Stadium on Tuesday evening.

The midfielder stepped up and bagged another goal this season from the spot as Michael Duff's men secured a 2-0 win and moved up to 18th in the League Two table.

It was a job well done in Thomas' view and he spoke to the media after the game about the win.

"We knew it would be a tough game and they've got some good forward thinking players, but overall we're pleased to get the three points on the board," he said.

"First half we were quite pleased. We got in front and it was just about kicking on second half.

"When they got the red card it allowed us to gain control of it a bit more so overall I think it was a fair result."
