Jonte Smith may have had to wait for a long time for his first Football League goal but his contribution in Cheltenham's 3-0 victory at Mansfield Town was huge in helping the Robins claim all three points in Nottinghamshire.

The Bermudian netted Michael Duff's sides first in the win to push the team up to fourth in the table.

He produced an excellently guided header past Bobby Olejnik from a Jake Doyle-Hayes cross to break the deadlock at the One Call Stadium and set Cheltenham on their way to a superb away three points.

"Every single one of the players ran their socks off for each other. You could see even at 90 minutes everyone was still running around, chasing the ball," Smith said after the game.

"It's a fantastic feeling when a team is that together and are going to work hard for each other.

"My first League goal has been a long time coming and I'm just thankful that it's finally happened.

"I'll probably try and keep that video and probably watch it over and over. I know my parents back home and a few friends and family would like to see it as well.

"I'm happy that I can do this for them because I know they've been supporting me for so long now."

He'll now be looking to line up again on Saturday 14 December in the Robins next game against Cambridge United at the Jonny-Rocks Stadium.

Tickets for that match are on sale this week from the ticket office on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday between 10am and 3pm, while they're also available to buy online at any time in advance.
