Jake Doyle-Hayes felt Saturday's 1-1 draw at Port Vale was a fair result based on the chances both sides had to win the game.

A tightly fought encounter saw the Robins and Vale share the points. Alex Addai put Michael Duff's side ahead, only for a Ben Tozer own goal shortly before half time to draw the two teams level.

That's how it stayed until full time despite numerous opportunities to add to the scoreline in the second period.

Aston Villa loanee Doyle-Hayes provided a marvellous assist for Addai's opener and felt a draw was a fair outcome on the day.

"It was very end-to-end especially towards the end - both teams had chances," he said. "For the fans it was an exciting game to watch.

"I think we had chances to win but they had chances as well so overall probably it was fair.

"Their midfielders are good players. They're always on you trying to rat and get the ball back. They put pressure on you a lot so it makes you have think quicker. Overall it was a good battle in there."

The Irish youngster will next line up for the Robins on Boxing Day at the Jonny-Rocks Stadium when Plymouth Argyle are the visitors.

Kick-off that day is at 3pm and tickets are on sale now from the ticket office, and online.
