Reaction: Reilly on Carlisle United

21 August 2019

Gavin Reilly was happy to get off the mark in a Cheltenham Town shirt after he scored the first goal in a good home win over Carlisle United on Tuesday night.

The Scottish striker, on loan until January from League One side Bristol Rovers, headed in the first of two first half goals to help the Robins claim three points with a 2-0 win.

Luke Varney got the other goal and Reilly felt the result turned even Saturday's point at Morecambe into a really good result too.

"It was good to get the goal but the three points is the main thing - it keeps a great record at home here and keeps us marching on in the league," he said post-match.

"We were delighted with a draw on Saturday but at the same time we were a bit frustrated because we know we can do better, but we've turned that point into a really good point now coming here tonight and getting the three points.

"The gaffer was saying that teams aren't looking forward to coming here now. They know they're in for a tough game - especially when we play like we did in the first half - we'll be a test for anyone in this league."
