22 August 2019

With the new school academic year starting very soon, Cheltenham Town Community trust still have places available on their two-year education scholarship.

Today is GCSE results day and those looking for their next steps post secondary school can book themselves into a full education program combined with fixtures representing Cheltenham Town at Futsal, with the course being equivalent to three A levels.

The course is suitable for students looking to continue education focusing on the sports industry, covering classes on everything from coaching to nutrition to psychology.

Additionally, the students will compete in a competitve futsal league against other football clubs such as Bristol City, Newport County, Chelsea and Southampton. The players will wear full kit, are coached by an FA Level 2 coach and transport will be provided.

Providing a clear pathway onto the Community Trust's degree program, the course can also lead to coaching roles at the club.

Futsal coach Jonathan Lewis said: "This course really set me up for what I wanted to do in life - that is coaching. Starting in a class at 16 with Chantelle, then progressing through the degree I am now employed as a full-time member of staff so I couldn't be happier."

"Anyone who loves sport in general and wants to be around a great club rather than college or school, this is perfect for them."

No previous experience in football or futsal is needed to enrol, and as long as you have GCSE's at 3/4 eligability is confirmed. Free tutoring and re-sits are available for those who did not achieve a 4 in English and Maths.

Please contact Chantelle.goldsworthy@ctfccp.com or via 01242 518630 for more information. Students can be enrolled any time up until the end of Septemeber.
