Squads named for Injured Jockeys Fund game

The teams for Wednesday evening's Injured Jockeys Fund charity fixture at the Jonny-Rocks Stadium have been confirmed (kick-off: 7.30pm).

An AP McCoy XI managed by Chelsea great Dennis Wise, and a Unibet XI managed by legendary trainer Nicky Henderson, will take to the pitch to raise important funds for the charity with two teams featuring stars from the world of football, horse racing and showbiz.

The AP McCoy XI, starring legendary jockey Sir Tony McCoy, features the likes of former England international midfielders Lee Hendrie and David Dunn, while former Everton star Lee Carsley is also in the squad.

Talented jockeys Jamie Bargary, Alain Cawley and Davis Bass also help make up part of a squad that features Robins goalkeeping favourite and current goalkeeper coach Steve Book. Model and TV personality Calum Best, son of former Manchester Uniter star George, will also be in action.

Wednesday's Unibet Invitation XI includes football favourites John Salako, Michael Johnson, Andy Gray and former Aston Villa midfielder Ian Taylor.

From the world of horse racing the Unibet side is also set to feature jockeys Nico De Boinville, Paddy Brennan and Luke Morris, as well as local trainer Fergal O'Brien.

Tickets for the game are available on the turnstiles on the night and are priced at £10. They can also be bought in advance online here. Kids can attend for free.

Kick-off is at 7.30pm under the lights at the Jonny-Rocks Stadium so come on down and help support the Injured Jockeys Fund and see some football and racing heroes, past and present, take to the turf to see who comes out on top.
