Reaction: Duff on Morecambe

22 April 2019

Michael Duff couldn't hide his disappointment at the way his Cheltenham Town side performed in defeat at Morecambe.

The Robins unbeaten run came to a sudden end on Easter Monday at the Globe Arena, as four second half goals saw the Shrimps claim a commanding three points.

Following a strong end to the campaign it was a disappointing showing for Duff, who made four changes to his starting XI following Friday's goalless home draw with Oldham Athletic.

"It's disappointing, clearly, we didn't turn up today," he said. "I watched Man United yesterday do the same thing. If you don't turn up and do the basics then that's what happens.

"We didn't run around enough. If you don't run around and you don't turn up physically then that's the most disappointing thing. I thought Morecambe were excellent to be fair - they were much better than us.

"I'm not going to question them too much because they've been excellent for seven months. I'm not going to start battering players. They know as a group we can't go from Lincoln away with the mentality of we're coming here to spoil the party, well today it was the first time I've seen in a long time where we just didn't turn up."
