This morning the club announced the details of the 2019/20 season tickets, 20 years on from the moment boss Michael Duff headed Cheltenham Town into the Football League. At the same time, season ticket holders were waking up around the world to see a letter from Duff in their inbox, urging them to play a big part in building for the future. Here's what he had to say.
I would like to start by thanking you on behalf of myself, my backroom staff and the players for backing Cheltenham Town as a Season Ticket holder during the 2018/19 season and helping us finish the campaign so strongly.
It was a tough start to the season but the players worked very hard in turning it around and they couldn’t have done it without the positive support of our fans.
We finished the season with one of the best home records in the division and continuing that into the 2019/20 campaign will be vital for us, ideally you need to win your home games first and foremost and that’s something we began to do in the second half the season just gone.
I remember helping Cheltenham Town get promoted in 1999 fondly, as a group of players back then there was a great connection between us and the supporters and I think it’s very important that we make our club the centre of the community.
Away from matchdays the players have been getting out into schools and the wider community, it’s something that I want to instil here and engage with the town and local area further next season.
It’s a special year celebrating that first promotion to the Football League, while its important to remember the achievements of the past we must look forward in building for the future and everyone from top to bottom has a role to play in that.
That hard work is already underway and we hope to have you on board by renewing your Season Ticket again and helping us build on and off the pitch for a successful season as we aim to carry this momentum forward.
