Wilcox: Next season your support will be vital

26 April 2019

Last week, Cheltenham Town announced the details of the 2019/20 season tickets. It's 20 years on from when the club gained promotion to the Football League for the first time and season ticket holders have again received a special letter in their inbox this week, urging them to play a part in helping the club build for the future. This time chairman Andy Wilcox has penned his thoughts ahead of this weekend's home game with Swindon, and the summer break. Here's what he had to say.

Hello,

With the season coming to an end I want to thank each and every Cheltenham Town fan for their support in helping Michael Duff and his team turn things around over the last few months.

Our home form has been key to our rise in status in this league and while that’s partially down to the players and staff, our steadily increasing crowds have played a huge part in this as well.

This weekend marks our final league game at the Jonny-Rocks Stadium as we take on Swindon Town in a local derby, which will be a nice way to sign off the season in front of our own supporters. We hope to see as many of you there as possible in what will be a good atmosphere and a large crowd.

I’m really excited about #MadeofCheltenham, our season ticket campaign, and think it’s great that we can encourage more young adults and children to join the Cheltenham Town family.

It's also important that we reward adults and seniors by cutting their prices as a thank you for their brilliant support over the last 20 years and beyond.

Michael has talked a lot about engaging with the community and I would echo that fully, we have a special football club here and all of us are made of Cheltenham.

The aim is that our improving results and the positive energy around the place will get people to buy into the club and get on board for the 2019/20 campaign.

We could make it ten unbeaten at home on Saturday and that shows how far we’ve come, going into next season your support will be vital as we strive to keep making the Jonny-Rocks Stadium a fortress.

Best wishes and come on you Robins!

Andy Wilcox
Chairman
