Community: Robins pay a visit to Tirlebrook Primary School

12 September 2018

Cheltenham Town were guests at Tirlebrook Primary School today handing out free ticket vouchers as part of our commitment to try and encourage 5,000 school children to attend fixtures at the Jonny-Rocks Stadium.

Cheltenham Town Community Trust visited Tirlebrook Primary School, as part of the Premier League Primary Stars eight-week project, an initiative set up by the Premier League to inspire children to live an active lifestyle whilst developing key life skills along the way.

Ryan Godwin, Premier League Primary Stars Coordinator, said: “We try and inspire children in the classroom and out on the field. We support on lessons such as English and Maths, reading projects, lunch time clubs as well as PE lessons for both boys and girls.”

“Our time in each individual school all depends on the needs of the teacher. We are here to support the teacher as much as possible, if they feel confident we might focus on more team-based activities whereas if they don’t feel as confident delivering a PE lesson we will focus on more of the basic skills such as passing and dribbling”.
