Preview: Jacob Maddox ahead of Saturday's trip to Exeter City

Robins midfielder Jacob Maddox is looking forward to this weekend’s clash against Exeter City with a ‘new level of confidence’ that new boss Michael Duff has instilled since arriving at the club.

Maddox played the full 90 minutes in Duff’s first match last Saturday and has reiterated that he and his teammates are fully behind their new boss.
“I think there’s a new level of confidence with the new manager coming in,” said Maddox.
“It’s a clean slate for a lot of the players and it raises the level. Everyone’s optimistic and fully behind him and it feels like the start of new things so hopefully we can start performing well and getting the results we deserve.”
The attacking midfielder, on loan from Premier League side Chelsea, has featured in all of the Robins league games so far this season.
Cheltenham Town have won their last two EFL League 2 games against Cambridge United and Northampton Town respectively, and although Exeter themselves are in good form Maddox is relishing the challenge on Saturday.
“Personally, I’m quite happy with my performances,” continued the Robins midfielder.
“Obviously there’s a few things I want to work on and help the team with but there are big games coming up. As a player that’s what you look forward to and it’s a new challenge, it’s a chance to show what we can do so we’re ready.”
