In focus: Oldham Athletic v Robins

22 October 2018

It’s a quick turnaround for Cheltenham Town as they travel to Oldham Athletic on Tuesday night (October 23, 7:45pm kick-off) following a derby day draw with Forest Green Rovers at the weekend.

Following two weeks without a game, the Robins are on the road for a second time in three days as they make a long trip up to Boundary Park still searching for a first win under Michael Duff.

Remaining in 22nd place after their 1-1 stalemate at the New Lawn on Saturday, Cheltenham face an Oldham side winless in five Sky Bet League Two matches and struggling for home form.

The Latics sit in 15th place with 17 points, seven more than the Robins – as the two sides meet for the first time since 2009.

With a better away record than at home, Frankie Bunn’s men suffered a 1-0 home defeat to Port Vale on Saturday, as Tom Pope struck the winner from the penalty spot.

Cheltenham will be without midfielder Kevin Dawson, who was substituted off after just 21 minutes in Nailsworth with a medial ligament injury – while Saturday’s goal-scorer Tyrone Barnett’s potential involvement is up in the air due to a dead leg.

Sean Long and Aden Baldwin remain the other absentees for Cheltenham, although Tom Field could be back in contention.
