Young forward heads out on loan

Under-18s forward Aaron Basford has joined Midland League Premier Division side Worcester City on a work experience loan deal.

The teenager, who was among the substitutes for Tuesday’s Emirates FA Cup first round replay win over Ebbsfleet United, becomes the fourth under-18s squad member to head out on loan.

Basford links up with a Worcester side that contains former Robins defender Andy Gallinagh and winger Ashley Vincent, who acts as assistant to manager John Snape.

Tom Handley, Will Dawes and Archie Brennan are the other under-18s players currently out on work experience loans. Handley and Brennan are both with Hellenic Premier Division side Lydney Town, while Dawes is with Evo-Stik Southern League South outfit Yate.

Basford could make his Worcester City debut on Saturday when they host second place Westfields at The Victoria Ground.
