Pick up a copy of The Robin for today's Newport clash

24 November 2018

The Robin, Cheltenham Town's matchday programme, is on sale at the Jonny-Rocks Stadium for today's clash with Newport County.

Ben Tozer is set to line up against his former side today and he speaks to George Didcote as part of the programme's big interview.

There's also more from Michael Duff and skipper Johnny Mullins, while you can find out more from the latest on the club's Academy and Ladies sides.

The Robins Trust provide an update on their latest work and today's Former Players' Association guests, Steve Elliott and John Brough, pick their all time favourite Cheltenham Town XIs.

Meanwhile, in the build up to today's fixture chairman Andy Wilcox has praised the club's improvement in performances on the pitch, ahead of a tough challenge this afternoon and on Tuesday night against Bury.

Speaking ahead of today's game he said: "I was very pleased to see us earn a place in the second round of the FA Cup with a win over Ebbsfleet United on Tuesday.

"I’m delighted for Michael that we have continued our good form. It is crucial that we got the prize money from winning the game and it will go straight into the budget for strengthening in January.

"I have been really impressed by our style of football recently and it has been enjoyable to watch. The use of the diagonal balls, the change in formation and style of our play has been really pleasing to see.

"Our next two games are big tests. Bury away will be tough as right now I see them as the best team in our division and Newport is also a tough game. It’s a local derby and a massive game.

"It’s important we keep our feet on the ground but we are improving and it is great to see us playing such attractive football.

"Michael has done wonders since coming in. I’m a great believer in if you put the hard work in, it pays off and you get your rewards. We have got better and every player in the squad has shown that they are better and have improved.

"I’d like to welcome the directors, supporters, players and officials from Newport County AFC to today’s game and hope they enjoy their time with us this afternoon."

Kick-off this afternoon against Newport County is at 3pm at the Jonny-Rocks Stadium.
