Big Ben: Time is right for Cheltenham challenge

24 May 2018

New signing Ben Tozer believes it’s a great time to be a Robin - as he looks forward to next season full of optimism about what can be achieved.

Tozer signed a two-year deal at the club earlier today to become Gary Johnson’s fourth summer signing – joining fellow new recruits Johnny Mullins, Ryan Broom and Alex Addai.

And Tozer, 28, was delighted to commit his future to Cheltenham Town.

He said: “I feel this is a fantastic place to be and a great time to be here. I know the gaffer very well and I’m excited about what we can achieve here.

“I have been fortunate to play Cheltenham a number of times over the years so it will be nice to have that support behind me.

“Last season was a really good one for me, I felt great and I really want to kick on from there as I come into a good period of my career.

“I really enjoyed last season at Newport County with a great cup run too. I made some good friends there and enjoyed my time in Wales and I thank the club for all the support it has given me.

“But it is time to move on and I’m now looking forward to getting started with a new challenge at Cheltenham Town.”
