Cheltenham Town are delighted to confirm the signing of exciting young midfielder Ryan Broom.

Broom, 21, has signed a one-year deal to join Gary Johnson’s men and joins fellow new recruits Johnny Mullins and Alex Addai as the squad begins to take shape ahead of the 2018/19 campaign.

Newport-born Broom is a graduate of the Bristol Rovers Academy set-up, having joined the club as a 12-year-old, and made his professional debut in 2015 in the League Cup against Birmingham City.

The Welsh ace went on to make his Football League debut in 2016 – against home town club Newport - and scored his first goals for the club in 2017, netting a brace against Wycombe Wanderers.

The right-sided midfielder has also had loan spells with Bath City and last season at National League side Eastleigh, where he scored three goals in 13 appearances for the Spitfires.

Ryan Broom said: “I’m excited to join and get started with Cheltenham. It’s brilliant to come up to the club, get things sorted early and I’m already excited about the new season.

“I’ve spoken to the manager and know what he expects from me. It’s a new start and an opportunity I plan to take.

“I really enjoyed my time at Bristol Rovers, I’m grateful for everything they did for me, but now it’s about going out and making my name at Cheltenham Town.”
