Andy Wilcox named new chairman

16 May 2018

Local businessman Andy Wilcox is today named as the new chairman of Cheltenham Town Football Club.

He takes over the chairmanship from Paul Baker, who last week stood down from the role after 21 years.

Andy was appointed at a Board meeting this afternoon by his fellow directors and will take over with immediate effect.

The 48 year-old is the owner and chief executive of construction company LCI Rail.

Cheltenham born and bred, Andy is a lifelong supporter of the club, he has been a major sponsor for the past three years and joined the Board at the start of last season.

"I am delighted and honoured to take on the role of chairman and very much looking forward to the challenge,” said Andy.

"It will be very hard to follow in the footsteps of Paul Baker after his long and fantastic service to the club.

"I'm looking forward to working with such a dedicated board of directors and I am very ambitious to take the club forward.

"Rome wasn't built in a day but we are looking to put plans in place to give this club a strong platform for the future.

"I've been a lifelong fan of Cheltenham Town and I am keen for it to retain its special place in the local community while pushing for success on and off the field."
