18 May 2018

Manager Gary Johnson believes new signing Ryan Broom can blossom at Cheltenham Town – and backed him to take the opportunity with both hands.

Broom today became the third new recruit for next season, following Johnny Mullins and Alex Addai though then door at the LCI Rail Stadium.

And Johnson was delighted to get his man and a young player who has always shone when he has watched him on action.

He said: “I’ve always been really impressed when I’ve watched Ryan play so we are very pleased that he will join us next season.

“Ryan is a midfield player with real energy to his game. He is quick, strong and the exactly the right type of character that we want in the squad for next season.

“He has been at Bristol Rovers for almost a decade, since joining the Academy as a youngster, and both myself and Darrell Clarke feel it is time for Ryan to play regular first team football. We are delighted to give him that opportunity.”
