French ace Nigel Atangana is targeting a big season with Cheltenham Town – insisting the new-look squad wants to hit the ground running this weekend.
The midfield ace is gearing up for the big kick-off with the Robins as they face Crawley Town in Sky Bet League Two at the Jonny-Rocks Stadium on Saturday.
And Atangana is eager to show his true form after an impressive pre-season with the club.
"I am very excited by the new season and we have some new lads ready to make a big impression,” he said.
"The new signings have added quality and the first game with Crawley will be a true test and one we can all look forward to.
"We've played some good teams in pre-season, like Walsall who were a League One club, so we could see where we were and how far we have come.
"We had some good games with Crawley last season, some positive results, and hopefully in front of our fans we can do well again.
"The new lads look very good with the ball, they are all good people and the atmosphere is very strong as we start a new season.”
"I am feeling good in myself, feeling fit, so I am happy and ready," he added. "I have had a good pre-season and I'm really looking forward to starting the season well and helping the team.”
