New Signing: Jake Andrews

31 January 2018

Cheltenham Town have completed the Deadline Day loan signing of midfielder Jake Andrews from EFL Championship side Bristol City.

The 20-year-old, who is currently part of the Under-23s set-up at Ashton Gate Stadium, moves to the LCI Rail Stadium on a deal until the end of the season.

Andrews joins club-mates Joe Morrell and Taylor Moore in making the move on loan from Bristol City this season.

His arrival means Cheltenham have brought in six new faces during the January transfer window. Sanmi Odelusi, Emmanuel Onariase, Elijah Adebayo, Ilias Chatzitheodoridis and Joe Rodon have also joined the Robins.

Manager Gary Johnson said: “We had the opportunity to take Jake in on loan and he is eager to come to us and compete for a place in our plans.

“He is a talented left-footed player who can operate out wide and give us that option as well as in the middle of the park.

“Even though he us our seventh loan signing, he will give the squad and other loan players competition.

“There is still a long way to go in the season and I do plan to loan out one or two players in the near future. Jake’s arrival ensures we have the competition we need.”

Andrews has previously enjoyed loan spells with both Chippenham Town, helping them to promotion, and with Guernsey FC.

The midfielder scored eight goals in eight games with Guernsey and helped Chippenham gain promotion to the National League South.
